Awesomate

Turning Awesomate data into a board you actually read

If your numbers already flow into Awesomate, the hard part is done.

The short answer

Awesomate brings your Xero and Ontraport figures into one normalised place. Buddzee reads named metrics from it, adds targets, direction and history, and puts them on a board. There is no separate sync to configure and no copy of your data sitting somewhere stale.

Why the data platform sits in the middle

Buddzee could have built a connector per system. It deliberately did not. Every direct connector is a thing that breaks when a field is renamed, and a business running four tools ends up maintaining four fragile integrations.

Instead there is one place where business data is brought together and given consistent names. Buddzee reads from that. When your accounting system changes something, it gets fixed once, upstream, rather than in every dashboard you have built.

What a metric looks like

An Awesomate metric is named rather than queried. You ask for sales.value over a period and a grain, and you get a series back. You are not writing a query, and you cannot accidentally write an expensive one.

metric:  sales.value

grain:   day

from:    2026-08-01

to:      2026-08-31

Buddzee wraps that in the layer the number was missing: a target, a direction, a comparison against the previous period, and a colour that changes when you drift off track.

The practical sequence

  1. Connect the account. One key, stored server-side, never sent to a browser.
  2. Browse the dictionary. Buddzee lists the metrics available on your account, so you pick from what exists rather than guessing at names.
  3. Give each one a target. This is the step people skip, and it is the step that makes the board worth opening.
  4. Put them on a board. Or ask the analyst to build one and approve its plan before it does.

What stays true

Every number keeps a link back to its source. When someone asks where a figure came from, the answer is in the widget rather than in someone’s memory. That is the whole reason for reading live rather than keeping a copy: a copy is right until the moment somebody reconciles an invoice.
